PLATEAU

Day one was eighteen months ago. The first step started with a challenge which changed my perspective on veganism. Now I’m more open to having a meat free meal for dinner. I’ve learned to control my environment and get out of my comfort zone to ultimately adopt better habits. Despite making those strides, at the end of the day, life happens. It is in this area that I require more growth. When shit happens, I need to check my attitude and bounce back quicker.
There comes a point in everyone’s journey where they feel like they have reached a plateau. That is how I currently feel. I have been able to keep off the weight that I lost over a year ago. However, to reach that next level, I will have to dig deeper. My weakness is still my eating habits. I lack discipline and consistency which are the pillars in accomplishing any goal.
I feel like I have great deal of knowledge when it comes to fitness. I have years of experience in sports and weight lifting. But I have no formal education, no certifications of any kind and therefore, I’m no expert. So I hired an expert. A personal trainer who is certified, has knowledge in nutrition, and whose guidance helps athletes and individuals reach their full potential.
I’m excited to see what the gaps are in my nutrition and workout routine. Once again I’m stepping out of my comfort zone. Better yet, I’m humbling myself and admitting that my knowledge is limited and that I need help. The greatest athletes need coaches to help them reach their full potential. How am I any different? This plateau period is making me realize that I need to be more persistent. As long as I’m bridging these gaps, the ultimate results will be attained.
